Services

Hosting treks and sharing the spiritual sights of Nepal is a passion and a privilege.  I love yoga and meditation and its an important part of each journey.  However, if your not a Yogi that's fine too - everyone is welcome and maybe, just maybe inspire you enough to explore a part of you that you weren't aware of, to find a stillness, acceptance and harmony than exists within us all.

Treks from 5 days to 20 days - yoga or no yoga - we can help you.  Join a group or travel individually, either way, Nepal is an absolute must for an adventurer!

I'm proud to say I have the support of the Nepal Embassy here in South Africa and I work with registered guides, professional yoga instructors and tourism accredited companies in Nepal who;

Trekking Grades:

This grading system is most commonly used in the Himalaya and may differ from any system you are familiar with.  Your perceived fitness levels may be effected by altitude especially when this is a new experience.  Aerobic activity before your departure such as daily walking for at least 1 hour per day in your hiking boots will give you an added advantage.  No Trek in the Himalaya is an afternoon stroll, the terrain involves ups and downs, we can recommend which Grade to choose depending on your parties experience.

Gr 1 - Easy, for all fitness levels - maximum altitude 2500m - 3210metres

Gr 2 - Moderate - more challenging as higher altitudes and steeper terrain. Maximum altitude 4500metres - 5550m - Circuit / EBC Gr 2 - 3.

Gr 3 - Strenuous and physical, some mountain experience required.  Altitudes exceed 5500 metres, glacier crossing.  

Gr 4 - Experience Required, High Altitudes, Rope Climbing & Rough terrain and Wilderness.

Welcome to Himalaya Yoga & Trek, that's me - Jo, taking a moment at the beautiful Garden of Dreams in Kathmandu.   If your a bit of an adventurer like me then I'm sure Nepal, Kathmandu and especially exploring the valleys and peaks of some of the highest and most beautiful mountains in the world - The Himalayas,  is high on your bucket list.  Some destinations I believe at least, just don't warrant 'going it alone'.  Trekking for days in a foreign speaking country, in sometimes tough and unfamiliar terrain can be a daunting task.  Let me take the headache out of the equation for you and join me on one of my small escorted treks and tours to the exquisite Himalayas.  So much history, culture, friendly people and of course the magnificent Himalaya to feast your eyes on and take home memories you'll cherish forever.  Check out below my upcoming adventures and I look forward to hearing from you and sharing these special journeys with you soon.

 Abit about me :   My travel days started at the age of 18 in New Zealand when the wanderlust took hold and so I took myself off to discover Australia, USA, Mexico, Canada, Bahamas, most places in Europe, Egypt and too many other countries to mention and now I reside permanently in South Africa. 

 I'd pondered on Nepal for over 10 years until I took the plunge to discover what was drawing me there.  I found a complex culture, an ancient history and fascinating architecture.  An overload on the senses with a myriad of color, sounds, sights and delicious food - especially if you know where to find these hidden gems.  I couldn't stop going back again and again and each time reaffirmed for me that I waited too long - my whole story has changed, my path a new direction.  

 I feel I'm in the right places at the right time with the right people.
