Tour starts in Kathmandu 2026 - Date TBA

Upon your arrival at the airport in Kathmandu from anywhere in the world on we'll collect you at the airport to join our escorted group on this fabulous Nepal adventure.

You'll be graciously met by our Nepali representative (or Jo herself) and transported into another world - Kathmandu.  A thriving mix of buses, taxi's, cars, trucks, cows, motorcycles, goats, rickshaws, bicycles all vying for space on the same road, it makes one giddy to be sharing this space - but somehow amidst all the different sounds and bustle - we smile and it all works!

This Himalaya adventure begins in the heart of Bouddhanath.

Bouddhanath Stupa - the largest Buddhist Stupa in the world

We'll be staying near this ancient Buddhist Stupa a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Bouddhanath, the 'all-seeing eyes' on every side seem to be welcoming you with a soft expression and serene calm.  Famed for its pilgrims and its wish-fulfilling properties, ensure you circumambulate in a clockwise direction and spin the prayer wheels where thousands of fingers from around the globe have been placed on the carved mantras "Om mani padme hum" to bring good karma.  Explore the area with Jo and end the evening with a delicious welcome dinner overlooking this special place.

The fascinating sights of Swayambunath 2000 year old Stupa otherwise known as the Monkey Temple.  Careful of your belongings or snacks you may have - you might find a cheeky hand helping himself to your precious camera or cool drink.

Jo, Helen & Dawn from Johannesburg - Swayambunath

After spending sometime to absorb the pilgrims lighting incense and butter lamps, monks in their beautiful maroon colored robes and to digest all your heightened senses being put to the test we'll depart for yet another sensory awakening of Pashupatinath, the holiest of the Hindu temples in Nepal.  The sacred sight where thousands flock to bury and cremate their beloved on fiery ghats jutting into the Bagmati River which flows to eventually meet the Ganges and where Sadhus or Swami's sit in their full mysteriousness - a sight of pure wonderment of this chosen fascinating lifestyle.

The Ghats (Buriel platforms) on the Bagmati River. The Holiest Hindu site of Pashupatinath

Our day continues on to Patan Durbar Square - The City of Arts.  Considered the oldest of all three cities of the Kathmandu Valley and  home to some of the finest crafts.  Most of the monuments in this square date back to the med-evil Malla period from the 16th to 18th century.  Temples are many as are shrines, sculptures and stupas - all architectural wonders.

Receiving Tika from a Kumari - a Living Goddess (a rare and special moment not to be taken lightly)

Stone houses and prayer flags on terraced hills overlooking expansive valley
Superb views of the Annapurna Ranges with Rhododendron trees in full bloom

We'll enjoy our own private Nepali yoga instructor in Pokhara and along the trek guiding us in a daily meditation and yoga practice.  Along with Jo weaving in her special blend of pranayama and meditation to sooth and treat the senses as we thread our way through winding paths and swaying suspension bridges.

Our journey combines terrain of tracks that are both up and down, along the bank of the Modi Khola river, through rhododendron, pine and oak forests as we visit small villages of Magar and Gurung ethnic peoples.  There is a steep stone stair climb to conquer and beautiful vistas of the Annapurnas, Dhaulagiri and Macchapuchare mountain ranges to marvel.  Throughout our trek we'll stay in traditional tea houses and meals cooked in the white stone fireplaces in kitchens neatly packed from top to bottom. We'll also overnight a  very special organic garden paradise.  Ginger, Honey Lemon tea - its a must on every trip.  This is a 6 day, grade 2 trek so a moderate level of fitness is all that is required.

Forest Meditation and opportunity to open your heart, Observe, Release
Helen - up close with a water buffalo (we can only imagine whats going through the minds of each of them :)
Enjoy a gentle yoga practice each morning and evening. Experience Yoga Nidra, meditation and philosophical chats. You don't have to know anything about yoga to join and maybe cultivate a new interest - who knows?

Shanti Stupa
No journey is complete without a visit to one of the exquisite monasteries in Pokhara or Kathmandu

Before saying goodbye  we return to Kathmandu for our last evening, a celebration and time to enjoy an Everest or Ghorka beer.  The following morning there's still time for last minute gifts, souvenirs or just enjoying the busy going slowly life in Kathmandu.

Dhanyabad (thank you) and I hope to see you join me on this adventure of a lifetime and trust you will find a new joy and an inner peacefulness giving you renewed vigor and strength and a spring in your step.  I guarantee you will feel how it is to really 'breathe' and experience an exceptional time in this very special place in the world. You'll have found the word 'Namaste' to have a deeper meaning and use it with complete sincerity now.  Take it home with you and share it, its too beautiful not to.
